Who we are Jobs Weekend Playworker Weekend Playworker Are you looking for a part-time playwork role working with children in a fun environment? The purpose of this post is to contribute to the planning and delivery of sessions in Sunday Funday in Edinburgh, and at our weekend family service in Kirkcaldy. We are looking for a creative and dynamic individual who can initiate and support play opportunities for children and young people that are innovative and engaging for the children and young people involved, and truly led by their interests and needs. Key responsibilities: Play an active role in the set-up, delivery and development of recreational activities Engage children in creative play and the management of suitable activities for the different ages and interests of children; Encourage and enable children and young people with a range of interests and abilities to play and socialise in an inclusive way Work with children and young people as individuals and as part of a group Essential skills: Knowledge and experience of facilitating indoor and outdoor play opportunities and environments and leading recreational activities A commitment to put equal opportunities and the rights of the child into practice A proven ability to work in a flexible and creative manner Knowledge and experience of facilitating young people’s social activities Strong organisational skills and administration abilities The Yard is a vibrant place to work that never stands still so if you have great interpersonal skills and a positive friendly attitude this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for.
