The public face presented by our staff team is confident and high-spirited, balanced by a sense of professionalism, and backed up by training and combined years of experience. Behind the scenes too, creative approaches are found in developing new partnerships and services. At The Yard we provide care, support, fun and friendship in equal measure, while promoting challenge and personal growth in an environment that values independence, and celebrates the capabilities and achievements of each individual child.

As well as our staff team, our volunteers are a key part of The Yard family. Whatever your background, and however much time you have to spare, you can make a difference to the lives of disabled children and young people in Scotland.

The Yard recognises the value of volunteers to the organisation. As a volunteer, you gain new experiences and insights, and learn new and transferable skills, whilst knowing you are making a valuable contribution.

The Yard have an incredible team so it has been a pleasure getting to know them. They are so friendly and welcoming,  as well as being hugely committed , compassionate and skilled.
