Who is it for?

Our family sessions are open to all The Yard members aged 0-18, accompanied by a parent/carer, at all three locations. Siblings and additional parents/carers are also welcome to join in.

What is a family session?

Rain or shine, our playgrounds offer everything from assault courses and bikes, sand and water play, to dress-up, crafts and baking - something for everyone.

The focus is on free play, allowing children to explore their own interests, but we also run activities to encourage sharing new adventures together. Our highly skilled play team is on hand to facilitate creative and adventurous play opportunities for you and your child.

Parents/carers also have a chance to grab a coffee and chat with friends, safe in the knowledge your children are having fun in a safe environment.

Do I need to book?

There is no need to book for any of our family sessions, except your first free taster visit. Click through for more info if it's your first time. You do not need a referral, diagnosis or medical evidence to access The Yard.

Where and when?

Edinburgh

The Yard Edinburgh is open to our members for drop-in family play sessions every Friday and Saturday (all year round). 

Friday:

1:00pm - 4:00pm

Saturday:

Quiet Session (9:30am - 11:30am)  (maximum 20 members)

We ask families to register your interest in this session with [email protected] before you attend for the first time.

Family Session One (12:00pm - 2:00pm)

Family Session Two (2:30pm - 4:30pm)

Dundee

The Yard Dundee is open to our members for drop-in family play sessions every Sunday (all year round).

Sunday: 10.30am to 3.30pm

Kirkcaldy

The Yard Fife is open to our members for drop-in family play sessions every Saturday and Sunday (all year round).
