Family feedback volunteer As volunteer, you can gain new experiences and insights, and learn new and transferable skills, whilst knowing you are making a valuable contribution. Our family feedback volunteers are responsible for the distribution of feedback forms to parents/carers at our family service. They will also support feedback admin tasks. This is a great role to interact with our families and get their ideas, comments and suggestions on The Yard, all to ensure our services work in the best way possible for families with disabled children and young people. What activities will I be involved in? Preparing feedback forms to be distributed. Handing out forms to parents/carers at family sessions. Talking to families about the importance of feedback and why we need it. Helping parents/carers fill the form in where required and collecting forms back in. Inputting feedback results onto our computer system. What skills and abilities will I need to fulfil this role? Enthusiastic about The Yard and the role of family feedback in improving and adapting services. Friendly and keen to interact with our families. Great organisational and communication skills. Good general computer skills. How much time will I need to offer? Our feedback is done twice a year with the next round in January 2020. You will need to be free on Fridays and Saturdays. It is important to us that you feel part of The Yard community and we want you to feel confident and happy in your volunteering role. You will be invited to come along to a short induction that will cover the basics on Health and Safety, Children Protection, Data Protection and the organisational values of The Yard. We run a number of training courses in house that you are welcome to attend so that you can develop your knowledge of the services we provide. Our team will be in regular contact and will meet you as often as is needed to provide support and guidance. Training and support on the specifics of the feedback role. Feedback is an incredibly important tool used to improve and adapt our services to our families’ needs – the families will have a chance to have their say on what they like at The Yard, what they want to see more of and what they would like to see improved. Our families will get support on completing a feedback form from a dedicated feedback volunteer. Is there anything else I should know? You have to be at least 16 years old to apply for this role. This role will involve undertaking physical work. We will pay your out of pocket expenses in line with The Yard’s volunteer policy.
