#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of unity in response to Coronavirus. Tuesday 5 May 2020 is a day where we come together to recognise, celebrate and give thanks for the incredible outpouring of compassion we have witnessed during this crisis. It is also a day to celebrate and support the charities who are continuing our work in challenging circumstances. We need you now to help make sure we will still be there in the future.

In addition to working full-time on funding applications, our own Ellen took on an epic 2.6 Challenge last week to raise even more funds through her personal networks. Today, we celebrate everyone who has tackled a challenge to raise much-needed funds for The Yard during these challenging times. Ellen says,

"I attempted to win 26 games (board games, card games, video games) against my two VERY competitive quarantine cohabitants in just 2.6 days (62.4 hours).

After a very tiring but very fun two days, I completed my 2.6 challenge with just three hours to spare! I only won six games first time, so many, many games were played altogether. The full list of games I won: Dobble, Bananagrams, Communist Cats, Super Smash Bros, Mario Party, Trial By Trolley, Crash Team Racing, Froggoals, Psych, Carcassonne, Connect 4, Jenga, One Strike, bean bag toss, egg and spoon race, Nerf gun target, Donkey, boules, ten ball pick up, higher or lower, 21, Whales Destroying the World, Categories, Top Trumps, Switch and Catan. Phew!

I am very lucky to work for The Yard and see the amazing support given to families every day. Like the majority of charities, The Yard has been hugely affected by Covid-19, with the closure of normal services, cancellation of fundraising events and more. I want to thank everyone who donated to support me, and to ensure The Yard can support families remotely during this crisis, and our services can resume once this period has passed."

A massive well done from all of us! You can still support Ellen and The Yard on her 2.6 Challenge Justgiving page.

You can also donate to The Yard directly to support our services. Thank you.
