Send a Lovelight and support The Yard
Let your friends know just how important they are to you whilst raising funds for The Yard by sending a Lovelight from your smart phone or via the web. Lovelights cost just £1 and 33 pence of that is donated directly to The Yard. Sending a Lovelight is the latest eco-friendly way to tell your friends and loved ones just how you feel.
There are 6 animated designs to choose from including a 'disco theme', 'exploding fireworks' and 'romantic pandas'. Each lovelight can be sent either from a smartphone or from spreadthelovelight.com with the cost billed directly to your mobile phone. You can also include a personal message with each Lovelight. Downloading takes seconds and your Lovelight can be opened as many times as wished and saved onto your smartphone or email.
Don't just take our word for it, see for yourself at www.spreadthelovelight.com . It is so easy, takes two minutes to do and raises vital funds for The Yard.

Scott Hastings, former Watsonians, Scotland and British & Irish Lions player, with The Yard’s Chief Executive Celine Sinclair and Jamie and Erin Pass.
Scott, along with some of the children from our 3-8’s Club, unveiled a plaque recognising the generous funding from Wooden Spoon- the children’s charity of rugby- which allowed for the essential upgrading of playground facilities including a complete overhaul of the drainage.
BBC Children in Need DIY SOS special at The Yard!
The BBC 1 series DIY SOS has chosen The Yard for their next big build!
This is an amazing opportunity and will mean a revamp of the whole building, both inside and outside, in just 10 days.
Only one charity in the whole of the UK is chosen each year by the DIY SOS team for this BBC Children in Need special. The build starts next month on the 26 September 2012 with the 'grand reveal' to families and friends set for the 5 October 2012. The work will also be filmed and broadcast UK-wide in November in their annual hour long DIY SOS Big Build Special.
We anticipate minor disruption to our service during this period and will keep you posted over the coming weeks of our plans.
So please spread the word and if you have a professional trade and would like to volunteer as part of the team then email email@example.com and we will forward your details to the BBC.
